The earth shook violently around Raph as his heart started to violently pound against the innards of his chest. He had used too much of his power, and the consequences started to show; he had forgotten in his rage and anger that he couldn't use too much of his ability at once. He looked down at Trey's body on the floor. His lifeless corpse covered in blood and deep cuts. Raph then looked over, hearing a door open suddenly as his partner Josh appeared. "Raph!" he shouted as he ran towards him. The white wolf suddenly felt a jolt of sharp pain shoot down his spine and chest as it nearly put him on his knees. All of his attention on Josh was completely lost as he fell to one knee, clutching his neck as it felt like it was on fire. The glytheum in his body began to course through his body faster than normal, and began taking over his body. It started to mutate the cells throughout his entire body as it crushed his nervous system; the stress over great power was too much. He looked at his right hand, a tingle and strange sensation warming it over before a burst of flame and orange electricity suddenly appeared in his palm. His eyes widened in surprise before flinching in even more pain, his heart pounding harder and faster. It felt like it was going to explode at any moment. He suddenly felt anger and hatred rise at every corner of his mind as the glytheum began to affect him even more. The markings on his body began to glow a white-orange as Josh realized what was happening. "Oh no, that's not good!" he thought aloud as he hurried to him faster, the span of the large room seemingly refusing to allow him to get to his partner in time. Almost as the floors were moving as he ran, but felt like he wasn't getting anywhere. He needed to save his partner, but wouldn't make it in time! Raph fell to one hand as he growled and whimpered in pain, his eyes forced to close in cooperation to the feeling coursing through his body. He began to succumb to its calling, forcing him into a painful rage as his power became too much to stop. His legs suddenly started to mutate as he fell to the floor in agony, the bone in his legs mutating and growing awkwardly as his legs and feet started to change to a more animal-like structure while his hands grew slightly larger, and grew large claws. His eyes began to change as a tiny and slim pupil appeared in the color of his eyes. His ears grew inches longer and taller, standing upright like his four-legged ancestors. His mind began to be blinded in rage as his power would not let him think of anything else. His power needed to be released, and his mind only used anger as the solution. Raph stood up as orange electricity and a mysterious orange cloud constantly blew away from his feet on the floor, the glytheum slowly released into the world around him, his markings glowing even more, as they only prolonged his life for mere minutes. Before Josh made it to him, it was too late. The grey fox shouted Raph's name, and reached out to him before this new creature slashed at him with his large claws, nearly sending Josh across the room. He was no longer Raph. "No Raph, no! Get it together! Don't do this!" Josh yelled as he jumped back away from his comrade. He knew he only had minutes before the glytheum would tear his body apart, so he needed to save him fast. He quickly grabbed a syringe from his pocket, a thumb-sized small tube that was only used in emergencies for he and his brother. Raph looked almost dazed as his he scanned the room around him as his power only continued to grow in size around him. He looked down at Trey's body before picking it up, raising it up to his new height. It was like he stared into Trey's dead soul before he tossed him to the side like a ragdoll, his new strength pleasing him as he looked back at Josh, the only other person in the room. The orange stream of electricity around him thrashing about, slamming anything it touched with a burst of power while its fire soared around him outward, being pushed outward by the constant pressure in the air. His glytheum began to affect everything around him as it began to change the floor around him. "I've only got one chance at this!" Josh yelled as he pulled a clip off of his belt, it automatically attaching to the palm of his hand as a small glow appeared from his hand. He then clapped his hands together before pulling them apart, a metal strand of rope appearing from one palm to the other as it continuously grew in length. He suddenly realized Raph was charging at him before he leaped aside and back again, biding his time as much as he could, preparing his attack. He wrapped a bit of the rope around his hand before throwing it as hard as he could to Raph, a small orb of water appearing on the end of it that Josh used to guide the rope like a missile at his partner. Raph didn't see it, nor did he care. He blindly charged at his new opponent before the strand wrapped around his arm with ease, then his other, then slammed into the ground like a stake, locking the beast in place. Raphial nearly fell as he was suddenly pulled down against his will. He angrily thrashed about, his arms not moving as he continuously tried to free himself. He glared at Josh before barking, then howling loudly. He then opened his maw, firing booming outward towards Josh at such a long distance like a flame thrower. The grey fox raised his left hand in a quick parry, a wall of thick water appearing before turning into a fortress of ice instantly. Ice infused with glytheum that would withstand almost anything, so long as Josh could concentrate on it. He then leaped back again, still pulling the rope before pulling another from the glow of his palm and shooting it at his comrade, the tie of strands pulling Raph down to the ground. "I'm sorry Raph, I'm sorry! This is for your own good brother!" Josh yelled as Raph started to roar in pain, the power in his body becoming too much for his body as it thrashed wildly around him. "Now's my chance, I have to take it!"Josh thought as he then grabbed the syringe from his pocket and ran to Raph, pulling the strands as he ran, keeping the demonic white wolf to the ground. He dodged and parried around strands of glytheum that appeared from Raphial that moved about, smashing anything near him. He then jumped onto Raph's back, pulling the rope tighter below him as he slammed the syringe into Raph's back right below his neck, pushing the back of it down. He then jumped away from him, before grabbing a rifle that lay next to a soldier's body near him. He pulled the clip from the chamber and released the ammo inside as several small chamber-sized darts appeared one at a time in the glow of his palm. He quickly loaded them into the clip before slamming the clip back into its chamber, cocking the loading piece back, and aiming at Raph. He fired as Raph began to whimper and roar loudly at the pain that starting to grow even faster in his mind. He then saw the rifle fire before retaliating in rage, the glytheum strands around him grouping together, catching the bullets instantly as Josh stared in disbelief. "Raph, don't do this!" Josh yelled as he put his left hand to his ear, "Avala, Jenna, I need your help! Raph has gone 247! I repeat, he's gone 247! I cannot keep at this alone! He's a lot stronger than we anticipated, and it's killing him by the minute! I gave him the meds, but he needs to be put to sleep for them to take affect faster!" He then noticed the beast began to pull harder, a rope snapping under thousands of pounds of pressure. One arm was freed as he grabbed the other strand and pulled it violently towards him, pulling Josh. Josh fell before being pulled towards Raph. He quickly released the rope, stopping and standing up before running back as Raph completely freed himself and ran towards Josh, raising his claws up high as the glytheum around him grew larger in appearance. Suddenly a shot filled the room, and Raph fell to the floor in a sudden roar of pain. He began to raise himself up before a shot hit him again in the other leg, sending him to the floor again. Josh looked around the room to see Avala with her sniper rifle hovering over a ledge above. He wasn't expecting her so fast! But Raph's roar and howl broke Josh's concentration as he ran to the wall, then glided up the wall on a sheet of water that appeared at his will before stepping behind Avala. "I knew what was going on before you said anything," she stated while she aimed before Josh could say anything. She then turned around, tears appearing in her eyes as she displayed no emotion. "Give me the darts, I'll do it," she said, again, before Josh could reply. He nodded in acknowledgement and handed her a longer, larger dart that appeared in the glow in his palm. She took it as the cries and roars could be heard from below as Raph tried to stand up, but kept falling back down. Avala loaded the large bullet into the chamber of her rifle before cocking its piece, and aiming. A loud boom escaped the barrel of the rifle as Raphial suddenly fell violently and instantly to the side, the impact of the bullet slamming into his neck. He fell to the floor, instantly knocked out. The glytheum around him slowly resided before disappearing completely within minutes as they watched. They both then leaped down and walked to their leader almost in disbelief. "It's been a long time since he had his last episode..." Josh said as they walked up to Raphial. His form changed back, his pants ripped apart below his waist. "Hopefully this won't happen again," Avala said as she bent down to pull the dart from his neck, the wound of the impact already healed. She stood up and handed him the dart, "Because of it does, he may not live next time." Josh looked at her as he could tell she held back more tears as she walked away the moment Jenna showed up. |
